https://Voice.club - OMG- OH My GOSH, “The Wheels on the Bus” is both a vintage song and my youngest grandchild’s very favourite. On hearing his mummy sing the opening lyrics, his face transforms into a sunshine smile. He giggles. His chin dimples with delight. No wonder- the song is so catchy and playful! “The wheels on the bus go round and round/ Round and round /Round and Round / The wheels on the bus go round and round/ All through the town.”
Our Grandson squirms with joy. Various emotions flit over his face. Joy and pleasure jostle each other. Positivism abounds. Surprise and amazement that his mummy is singing HIS song. The repetitive rhythm gives him the wiggles.
DYK- DID YOU KNOW that this American children’s folk song was written by Verna Hills in the 1930s?
NBD- NO BIG DEAL; I had to research Wikipedia for this information.
OFC- OF COURSE the other grandma, grandma D employs the song to distract him while she cuts our grandson’s cherubic blond locks. Smiling and confident, she dances around him clipping, snipping and trimming. He interacts with her by clapping. His dad boasts, “You know my mum, your grandma D was a professional hair stylist?”
TBH- TO BE HONEST, I am so glad that the other grandma did not give our grandson a mullet or mohawk!
IMHO- IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, truly his new haircut is ultra stylish. Of course, everything looks wonderful on such a perfect 18 month old.
FYI- FOR YOUR INFORMATION, our grandson is certainly not whiny. He cannot be compared with, “The babies on the bus go, “Wah, wah, wah!” So his mummy rarely says, “Shh, shh, shh, shh!”
PDA -PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AFFECTION abound in this home. Thankfully. If and I say if the grandson did cry, the other grandma, grandma D would sing, “The people on the bus go up and down.” Bobbing, she pulls him into her arms for the HUGEST hug!
ILY- I LOVE YOU would rebound around the room. So our grandson is swaddled as always in love, affection and security-every child’s right.
