Alex, I enjoyed this piece tremendously. Your soprano was superb and the string quartet playing was immaculate. I was really impressed by the way they stayed together throughout in spite of tricky rhythms, syncopated rests and pauses, especially in the quirky third movement. All the entrances were precise and clean. Again, the soprano did a great job as a very subtle conductor.

Your harmonic language throughout was organic and beautiful - combining the best aspects of tonality and post-tonal harmonies. You kept a good balance between consonance and dissonance. Even audiences who might cringe at 21st century music would find this piece appealing.

I really liked the durations of each movement - long enough to be satisfying and complete, yet leaving us wishing for more.

Congratulations on a piece that gets better at each hearing!
