Music Studio Collab - 2024-Summer

Our studio is an online platform for music creation, and our goal is to build a community of artists who work together to create incredible music.

We are building an exciting and fun community environment for music creation, recording, and collaboration with anyone in any location. We plan to incorporate music composition, performance, creation, and production.

Greetings Everyone - We are launching our first music recording collab of the summer - enjoy!

@RaphaelMouawad - Great work on your first collab piano track recording!

I dropped the first quick mix on the studio page for this project:

Greetings - We are so happy that you have chosen to study music with us. It is a joy to work with such talented, committed young people. Private lessons have always been important to young musicians; now an added feature of the MusicExchange is a strong online community.

Good news, folks - We’ve just finished all the recordings and production of our first MusicExchange online studio collab. We have previously discussed online collaboration in our monthly Zoom sessions, and now it’s a reality that you all can enjoy!

An online studio collab is a series of remote music recording sessions where all the musicians are in different geographical locations, and record separate individual tracks. When all the performers have submitted their recordings, a producer combines all the remote tracks into one final production audio work of art.

We designed our MusicExchange Studio for education and lifelong learning. Each collab has a detailed page which contains an initial audio sample, studio log, score / lead sheet, DAW help info, and a progression of draft mix-downs. Our goal for each collab is to detail the entire process for our members who would like to learn about sound engineering and studio recording.

Many thanks to @RaphaelMouawad for recording the jazz piano track for our first collab! The final production has been posted on the Studio Collab page, but you can also listen directly here:

We also publish each collab on YouTube, so you have the option to share the final production with friends and family via this YouTube video:

Now is the chance for all MusicExchange VIP members to add your comments and ideas to our first collab. The studio log will be open for comments or questions until the countdown is over. You may want to ask the performers about their equipment, instruments, recording space ambiance. Or you may have suggestions for the future, or constructive criticism! All your comments will add value to the project, and will become part of the permanent history.

Greetings Everyone - We’re pleased to announce a successful completion of our first collab, “The Days of Wine and Roses” featuring Raphi Mouawad on jazz piano. We are now in the process of beginning our next collab - Satie’s Gymnopedie I. Annika Joshi will be our featured pianist on this great piece.

Annika, we need a few days to get Studio-2 ready. While you are waiting for us to open the studio for the Gymnopedie collab, the two articles below will help you start becoming familiar with the DAW we use for recording. Anyone else who wants to learn more about the collab tools might also enjoy reading these articles.

Thanks again to Raphi for an awesome first collab! I’m looking forward to working with Annika and blending the trumpet with her piano for the smooth sophistication of Satie!
