https://Voice.club - Sue was born in spring which she considered a bonus because all her birthdays were filled with flowers, showers and the promise of summer days to come. She was as outgoing as a daisy following the sun, as cheerful as a tulip, as charming as a blossoming tree. People loved Sue.
She had friends all over the world and everyone she met became an instant soulmate who begged her to come and stay for long visits. And because she was as adventurous as she was generous, she always did and reciprocated in kind.
Sue decided to host this year’s birthday dinner at a local fusion restaurant for a select number of friends –it was hard to whittle them down but she succeeded in having only 25 closest mates. All the guests considered themselves lucky to be included because they knew it was going to be fun. Sue’s parties were legendary.
Sue had bought a special bright yellow floaty dress in Madagascar and she positively glowed in the candlelit restaurant as she bent and hovered around her guests at the long table, chatting, laughing, touching, enjoying them all. She organized the waiters, chivvied the starters and loved it when the happy birthday song was sung to her by everyone in the restaurant, including some bemused but willing guests who didn’t know her at all but wished they did.
‘I’m in yellow tonight,’ Sue crowed, waving her champagne flute, ‘because it’s spring and I’m in a fever of excitement to have you all around me to celebrate! I think I’ll wear yellow for the rest of the year!’
When friends phoned the next day to thank Sue for the wonderful evening, Sue sounded dreadful.
‘You should see me!’ she wailed. ‘I think some of the food disagreed with me. I’ve got a sky-high temperature and I’ll never get out of the bathroom at this rate!’
Poor Sue. She’d brought back hepatitis from Madagascar, as well as her gorgeous yellow dress and it took her a long time to stop looking yellow all over.
That spring became a spring fever yellow super-spreader.
