Grateful Steps - by Lucky Sharma

https://Voice.club - “Mom, I didn’t get selected in the audition again.”
“It’s okay dear. Try harder next time,” her mom said.
“I’m tired now, Mom. I want to give up. I don’t know what grudges God has against me… I hate Him,” Ava said and walked away.

Disheartened, she wandered down the street, thinking about her struggles. Just then, she saw a man with no hands, happily painting with his feet. Surprised, Ava asked, “You don’t have hands, yet you’re so happy. Don’t you blame God?”

He smiled, “At least I have legs. Some people don’t even have those. I’m grateful to God.”

Ava walked on and saw a blind little girl singing joyfully. She asked, “You can’t see, yet you’re so happy. Don’t you have complaints against God?”

The girl replied, “I have hands and legs, and a loving mom. Many don’t even have that. I’m grateful to God.”

Deep in thought, Ava walked further and sat near a river. Just then, she noticed a boy trying to make clay pots but failing repeatedly.

“Why don’t you give up? You keep failing,” she asked.

He smiled, “Why should I? Who says success comes in one try? If I keep trying, I’ll succeed one day.”

“Don’t you get angry at God?”

“No. He gave me the ability to work hard and talent. I’m grateful to Him,” he replied.

That night, Ava wrote in her diary:
“Forgive me, God. I blamed You, but I was wrong. You gave me two hands, two legs, a loving mother, and the strength to try. I’m truly grateful. I won’t stop until I succeed. Thank You for everything.”

One week later…
“Mom! I got selected for the audition! They gave me the lead role in the drama!” Ava shouted joyfully.

Voiceover (Ava):
“I’m so happy… because that one little walk changed my entire life. Thank You so much, God, thankyou so much.”
